A LITTER RISK INDEX THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF The Litter Risk Index estimates the risk of footpad lesions (pododermatitis) on a 0–100 scale, computed from the house climate. The app shows exactly what drives the number: the gap between litter temperature and the dew point, the relative humidity of the bottom air above the litter, and the deviation from the age-appropriate target temperature. Weighted by flock age, because risk peaks around grow-out day 14–35. And when the value turns critical, you get more than a number. ChickSense names the next steps: replace wet or capped litter, check drinker lines for leaks, adjust ventilation, inspect the birds, then measure again.
