Full description
In one study, 91% of the worries people wrote down never came true. Almost nobody finds that out about their own. Mindknot is where you write the worry down, and where, a week later, it asks what actually happened. No, sort of, or yes. One tap. What builds up is a record of your own fears and what became of them, in your own words, and that does more than any amount of being told not to worry. FIRST, THE THOUGHT ITSELF Telling yourself to stop overthinking never works. So write down what you can't stop thinking about, and Mindknot opens it into the smaller worries sitting underneath, one branch at a time, until you can see the shape of what is actually bothering you. Then it gives you an honest read: what is driving the loop, what to stop doing, what to try instead. HOW IT WORKS 1. Write it down. One sentence is enough, or tap the microphone and say it. 2. Watch it open into a spiral, a map of where the thought really leads. 3. Follow any branch as deep as you want, down to the fear underneath. 4. A week on, answer one question about it. Did it happen? WHAT'S INSIDE Did it happen. A week after a spiral, one question and three answers. Your record builds from there. Map a spiral. Turn racing, anxious thoughts into something you can look at from the outside. Six registers, not one. A breakup reads as loss, a near miss as hope, a mistake as regret. The map follows the feeling you actually have. Two minutes. No typing, no waiting. Three short questions matched to the kind of thought it is. Park it. Not now. Put the thought down until seven, and find out whether it is still there. This looks familiar. When a new spiral is close to earlier ones, the app says so, and names the worry running underneath them. What keeps coming back. Spirals that turn out to be one worry get a name and a page of their own: when they tend to turn up, and what happened the times you checked. Insights. A clear read on what is really going on, what to stop doing, and what to try instead. Patterns. Over time, see what keeps coming back and when your spirals tend to start. A gentle interruption. If you have been circling too long, the app steps in and offers a way out. A daily check-in. One tap on how your head is today, no streaks and no pressure. Feed. Read what other people felt safe enough to share, and share your own if you choose. Connect. Find someone stuck on the same thought and talk it through in private. Home screen widget. Says what is waiting, and opens straight to it. Light and dark, whichever is kinder at 2am. BUILT FOR OVERTHINKERS If you replay conversations for hours, spiral before sleep, catastrophize small things, or lie awake with anxious thoughts you can't switch off, this was built for you. It is a journal for rumination, intrusive worries, and the self doubt you would rather not text anyone about. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your spirals and insights are yours. Nothing reaches the feed unless you choose to share it. Voice input uses your phone's own speech recognition, and Mindknot only ever receives the text. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings whenever you want. ONE HONEST NOTE Mindknot is a self reflection and journaling tool. It is not therapy, medical advice, or a crisis service. It can help you think more clearly, but it cannot replace a doctor, a therapist, or a trained crisis line. If you are struggling, the app links you straight to real support lines under Get help now. Free to use. Pro adds unlimited spirals, unlimited depth, your full history, sharing to the feed, and unlimited connections. Questions or feedback: [email protected]

What's new

A new look. Mindknot now opens on warm paper by default, with the knot tied in brass, and a night mode that is genuinely night. The first minute is new. Four questions about what is looping, then your own answer read back with what happens next, rather than four screens explaining the app. You can map a thought before making an account, and keep it afterwards. Plus: the week-on question now arrives at the hour you said the worry is loudest.
