Byte Baron is a strategy game about tech companies from 2027 to 2046. You start in a garage with a few million and a small team, while four established giants run the market. One tap on "End" is one year. After twenty years, the company with the highest value wins. RESEARCH AND LAUNCH Your team has a fixed number of projects each year. A project is either research in one of five technologies (chips, software, display and optics, battery and artificial intelligence) or a new product. You pick a price tier (budget, standard or premium) and split the effort between technology, design and stability. The year after launch, the product gets a user rating from 1 to 10. EIGHT MARKETS THAT CHANGE Apps, smartphones, laptops, watches and wearables, VR headsets, cloud services, AI assistants and home robots. Phones are biggest at the start. Cloud and AI grow fast, home robots arrive later, and VR has a hype peak and a slump. Cloud services and AI assistants have a capacity limit: if usage goes over it, you get an outage. BUILD THE COMPANY Choose how you start: app studio, hardware garage or AI lab. Hire more people, open the Hardware and the Cloud and AI divisions, run campaigns, sign partner deals and borrow from the bank when you need to catch a wave. Your headquarters grows in the city skyline, from a garage to a campus. RIVALS AND THE ANNUAL REPORT Four fictional rivals research, launch, hire and move into new markets. The leaderboard shows company value. The annual report shows your result, market shares, user ratings and industry news, such as chip shortages, AI fever, a VR winter, rate hikes and privacy scandals. Once per in-game year you can choose to watch an ad for a sponsor bonus. Premium is a one-time purchase (about 49 NOK) that gives the sponsor bonus without ads, a sandbox (25 or 30 years, more starting capital, a calmer or wilder market) and a premium badge. Small extras cost about 19–29 NOK: an investor pack, headhunter ×3 and undo year ×3. Games where you use purchased perks, and sandbox games, do not count on the record list. The companies, products and events in the game are fictional, and the economy is simplified. The app contains optional in-app purchases and rewarded ads that you choose to watch. No banners.
