Kairoo is your side of the family deal about screens. You and your grown-up agree the deal together and you both sign it. Then Kairoo keeps it on this phone, the same way every day, so nobody has to argue about it. WHAT YOU CAN DO • See how much time you have left today • Get a heads-up before time is up, then a calm wind-down • Save spare minutes in your jar, if your deal allows it • Ask for more time and say why. Kairoo answers the way your deal says, or asks your grown-up • Tick off the things that come before screens, and take a photo in Kairoo to show a task is done • Keep your streak going and see how you're doing • Say if something in the deal feels unfair, before you sign it • Read "What Kairoo knows": the honest list of what Kairoo sees and what your grown-up sees FOR GROWN-UPS Kairoo is a parental-control app for a child's Android phone. A parent or carer sets it up on their child's phone, with their child, and links it to Kairoo Parents on their own phone using a 6-character code. It is never hidden: "Kairoo is on" shows in the notifications the whole time it runs. During setup a grown-up reads what this phone sends and agrees, then switches on: • Usage access, so Kairoo knows which app is open and for how long • Display over other apps, so the heads-up and wind-down can show over a game • Notifications, so "Kairoo is on" always shows • Running in the background, so Kairoo isn't shut off • Optional: Pause floating videos, so a video that should be resting can be paused What this phone sends to the grown-up's Kairoo Parents: which apps are on the phone and the minutes spent in each one; the asks, messages and check-ins written in Kairoo; a photo only when one is taken in Kairoo for a task; whether Kairoo's switches are on. Kairoo never reads messages, chats or notifications, never looks through the photos on the phone, never sees what is inside other apps and never tracks where the phone is. Calls, texts and emergency calls are never blocked. No ads. While the deal is on, Kairoo's own pages in Settings are closed to the child. The grown-up can open them from Kairoo Parents.
