Full description
FULL DESCRIPTION (2805 of 4000) Stop being the bad cop over screen time. Be their parent, not the phone police. You and your child write one fair deal about screens and both sign it. Then Kairoo keeps it on their Android phone: a heads-up before time is up, a calm end when it is, and asks for more time answered the way your deal says, with the reason shown to you both. Over time, when they stop at the heads-up with time still left, those minutes go into their saved-time jar, up to its weekly limit. Self-regulation becomes something they practise, not something you police. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Write the deal step by step: a daily allowance, bedtimes for school nights and weekends, the apps that count, the apps that are always allowed (calls, messages, school), limits for single apps and things to do before screens. • Sign it together. Nothing switches on until you have both signed. • See how the day went: the minutes in each app today and over the past week, and each wind-down that was kept. • Answer asks. Your child can ask for more time and say why. Kairoo answers the everyday ones the way your deal says and brings you the ones that need you. You can say yes, not quite, or end screens now, with a reason. • Check tasks. Your child can take a photo in Kairoo to show a task is done, and you tick it. • Family focus time: when you both agree to one, your own phone can rest alongside theirs. • Change the deal together. Your child sees what changed. • Hear about it if protection stops, for example when a switch on their phone is turned off. HOW IT WORKS Kairoo Parents goes on your phone. Kairoo goes on your child's Android phone: you set it up with them and link the two phones with a 6-character code. Kairoo on your child's phone is a parental-control app. It is never hidden. "Kairoo is on" shows in their notifications while it runs, and they can read everything you can see in "What Kairoo knows". WHAT YOUR CHILD'S PHONE SHARES WITH YOU • Which apps are on their phone, and the minutes spent in each one • Their asks, messages and check-ins, in their words • A photo, only when they take one in Kairoo to show a task is done • Whether Kairoo's switches are on, and when it last checked in WHAT KAIROO NEVER DOES • Read messages, chats or notifications • Look through the photos on their phone • See what is inside other apps, or what they search • Track where they are • Show ads GOOD TO KNOW • You save your family with your email, using a 6-digit code or Continue with Google. There is no password. Your email brings your family back on a new phone. • You can delete your account and all your family's data at any time: Family › Account and privacy › Delete account and family data. • Kairoo is in early testing in the UK. Tell us what to build next from the Family tab, or write to [email protected].

What's new

• Jobs: pick family jobs and extra jobs that earn coins, answer what your child has done in one tap, and turn on pocket money if you want it. • Your child picks their look, Bold or Roo. • One conversation with your child, with a gentle limit so messages don't pile up. • The tour now has Try it, so you can try each part as you go. • Help improve Kairoo: one switch in Family for the usage counts. • The keyboard no longer covers what you type.
