Bula Work connects the people who need construction work done with the people who do it: general contractors, subcontractors, homeowners and skilled tradespeople. United States only. WHO IT IS FOR - Worker: build a profile with photos and videos of your actual work, set your hourly rate and trades, and get found by companies near you. - Subcontractor: show your crew's portfolio, take on jobs, and manage your own workers. - Company: post a job, browse verified workers and subcontractors, send offers and run the contract from one place. - Homeowner: describe the job, get offers from tradespeople you can actually look up, and pay only when the work is done. HOW IT WORKS 1. Post a job or set up your profile. 2. Tap "I'm interested" on the jobs or the people you want. Interest goes both ways, so companies and workers can find each other before anyone commits. 3. Agree on the terms inside a written offer: scope, rate, dates and milestones. 4. Accept the offer. Only then does the chat open, and the contract begins. 5. Clock in and out on site, upload evidence of the work, and close each milestone. 6. The money is released when the work is approved. PAYMENT HELD SAFE Payments run through Stripe. When a job starts, the money is authorized and held; it is released to the worker when the milestone is approved. Workers get paid for the hours and milestones they completed, and companies do not pay up front for work that has not happened. If something goes wrong, either side can open a dispute and the chat history, the clock records and the uploaded evidence are all part of the record. VERIFIED BY WHAT YOU BUILT Workers, subcontractors and companies carry a portfolio of photos and videos of real jobs, plus ratings from people they have actually worked with. Homeowners do not carry a portfolio - their reputation is built on paying on time. TIME CLOCK Clock in and out from the job site. Hours are recorded against the contract, so payroll and invoicing match what actually happened on site. PRIVACY AND SAFETY - Chat stays closed until a contract exists. - Phone numbers, emails and addresses are kept out of the chat. - Terms travel inside the offer, in writing, not in loose messages. WHAT IT COSTS - Homeowners: free. - Companies posting milestone work: free. - Subcontractor jobs: 5%. - Staffing: 40%, which covers the agency being the employer of record. No in-app purchases.
