Full description
Android has one media volume for all apps. LoudSet changes that one level when an app you chose comes to the front, and puts the previous level back when you leave it. It cannot make two apps play at different volumes at the same time. An automatic app volume control: a volume for each app you choose, so games stop being too loud, with separate levels for Bluetooth headphones and the car. HOW IT WORKS • Choose an app, pick a level and save the rule. Then start monitoring. • When that app opens, LoudSet sets the phone's media volume to your level. When you leave, the level from before comes back. You can turn restoring off. • Separate rules for the speaker, wired or USB headphones and Bluetooth, and if you like, for one specific Bluetooth headset or car. • Two modes: "Set to" applies your level. "At most" is a volume limit: it lowers a level that is above your limit and leaves quieter levels alone. • Media volume only, by default. Ringtone, notification and alarm volume change only if you select them in a rule. • Press the volume keys while the app is open and LoudSet keeps your change until you leave. Optionally, it can learn the new level for next time. • A notification shows the real current level with Pause and Stop and restore. A Quick Settings tile starts and pauses monitoring. • Rules pause during calls and while sound plays on a remote device that Android reports. IT SHOWS WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED • Every change is read back from Android. If Android keeps a different level (Do Not Disturb, hearing protection or a device limit), LoudSet tells you and does not keep retrying. • Diagnostics shows the levels Android reports, the current output and any level still waiting to be restored. A one-step test lowers media by one step, reads it back and restores it. • If LoudSet is closed in the middle of a session, the previous level is saved on the phone and restored when LoudSet opens again, after a restart or after an update. WHAT LOUDSET CANNOT DO • One shared volume: everything that plays at the same time follows the level of the app in front, including music playing behind it. • In split screen and picture-in-picture, the app opened most recently decides the level. • Navigation voices usually share the media volume. Ads inside an app play at that app's level. • Headphone safe-volume warnings and hearing protection cannot be bypassed. Do Not Disturb can block ringtone and notification changes. Alarm volume may have a minimum, and on some phones notification volume is tied to the ringtone. • Only Android's whole volume steps. No finer steps and no extra loudness. • When a Bluetooth device connects, Android puts back the level it remembers for it. LoudSet waits for the output to settle before changing anything. • Some phone makers stop apps that run in the background or restrict usage access. If monitoring stops, check the battery settings for LoudSet. Monitoring does not start by itself after a restart. • Some apps keep their casting private. Use Pause for those sessions. • Force-stopping or uninstalling LoudSet during a session can leave the last level in place. Tap Stop and restore first. PERMISSIONS • Usage access: to notice which app comes to the front. LoudSet reads only the last few seconds of app-open and app-close events, only while monitoring runs, and keeps no history. • Do Not Disturb access: only if a rule changes ringtone or notification volume. • Nearby devices: only for a rule tied to one specific Bluetooth device. • Notifications: the monitoring notification with Pause and Stop. Monitoring works without it. • Foreground service: monitoring runs visibly, and only after you start it. No internet permission. No accessibility service. PRIVACY No account and no server of ours. No analytics, no crash reporting. Rules and settings stay on your phone and are left out of backups.
