Full description
Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) that works the moment you open it. No internet, no account, no ads interrupting your game. ★ A REAL OPPONENT, NOT A RANDOM BOT The chess engine is written from scratch in C++ and runs on a background thread, so the board stays at a smooth 60 frames per second even while the computer is calculating. • EASY — A beginner. It still takes hanging pieces and still spots a mate in one, but it slips now and then. You will beat it within a few games. • MEDIUM — A club player. It sees two- and three-move combinations, sets traps for your chariot, and trades down when it is ahead. You have to concentrate. • HARD — Full strength, no mercy. Opening book, endgame knowledge, and it keeps thinking during your turn. Strong casual players will struggle to win. ★ THE RULES, ALL OF THEM Not a half-finished board game. Everything other apps skip is here: • Blocked horse leg, blocked elephant eye, cannon needs a screen to capture • Flying general — a move that opens the file between the two kings is illegal • Running out of legal moves is a LOSS, not a draw as in Western chess • Perpetual check loses for the checking side, per Asian rules • 60-move rule and insufficient material draws • The 60-move rule can be switched off in Settings ★ A BOARD WORTH LOOKING AT Real wood grain, depth, and shadow. Round pieces with bevelled edges and engraved Han characters, drawn entirely with vectors so they stay sharp on any screen. • The river text 楚河 漢界, palace diagonals, and the star points at the cannon and pawn positions • Horses move along a curve, captured pieces fade away, the losing general topples over • Tap to see legal moves, or drag and drop — both work • When you are in check the general shakes and glows red; you cannot miss it ★ SMALL THINGS THAT MATTER • Unlimited undo when your finger slips • Three hints per game, computed by the Hard engine • Auto-save after every move — close the app mid-game, come back later • Win/loss/draw statistics per difficulty • Play Red, Black, or random • Traditional, simplified, or symbol piece lettering • Three piece sizes, optional coordinates, adjustable animation speed • Vietnamese, English, Chinese ★ RESPECTS YOUR DEVICE AND YOUR DATA • Does NOT request the Internet permission. The app could not send your data anywhere even if it wanted to. • Collects nothing. No ads, no in-app purchases, no tracking. • Stops calculating the moment you switch away, so it does not drain your battery in the background. • Small download, runs well on Android 7.0 and up. Xiangqi is a game for thinking. This app does one job: give you a decent opponent and a beautiful board, then get out of the way.

What's new

1.1.0 — online play. • Online play: random matchmaking, or a room code for a friend • 10 minutes each plus 5 seconds a move, with an Elo rating • Draw offers, resignation, and rejoining after a dropped connection • No chat — only the moves on the board • Playing the computer still needs no network, and is unchanged
