Rookie spots the obvious tactics, Thinker searches four moves deep, and Grandmaster digs deeper still, ordering its options with care. Each drill is a real position with a forced line, checked by a solver, played against the strongest defence. Stats show your share of first finishes against the bots, your streaks, a bar for each opponent and your recent games. The quiz asks twelve statements per round from 26 real facts about grid games and game theory, from a 1952 noughts and crosses game on an early Cambridge computer to the alpha-beta search. A full rules panel sits under More, haptics and motion can be switched off, and the app plays offline, with no ads and no account.
