Full description
PageCrawl Relay is a companion app for PageCrawl.io, the website change monitoring service. It needs a PageCrawl account. Some public pages can only be reached from a particular connection: a portal that is open to one country, or a site that does not accept the connection used for your usual checks. PageCrawl Relay lets those checks leave from this phone's network instead of PageCrawl's own servers. It cannot check routers, intranets or other private network addresses. Relay is available on every PageCrawl plan, including Free. It is best suited to personal monitoring and budget-conscious users who can keep their own device online and supply the bandwidth. Normal monitoring limits still apply. For business monitoring, Enterprise or Ultimate and their included managed connection options are usually a better fit. Optional Web Unblocker bandwidth is billed separately. No connection is guaranteed to load every site. Setting it up 1. In PageCrawl on your computer, open Settings, Relays, Add machine. It shows a QR code and a key. 2. Scan the QR code with this app, or paste the key. 3. Turn on Relay checks. The phone stays connected to PageCrawl and carries the checks you point at it. What it does - Checks run from your own connection, so pages that only your network can reach can be monitored. - Wi-Fi only by default. Mobile data stays off until you turn it on, and you can set a monthly limit for the relay in PageCrawl under Settings, Relays. - Local network protection: requests to private network addresses are refused, so a relay cannot be used to reach devices on your home network. - A self-check that tests the key, the connection to PageCrawl and the protection, without interrupting a relay that is running. - Remove the key from the phone at any time, which ends the relay. Battery Relaying keeps the phone awake, so it works best on a charger. Android may pause the app to save battery, and checks relayed through the phone would fail while it is paused, so the app offers to keep running in the background. Privacy The app carries check traffic and reports the relay's status. It does not read your monitored pages or your PageCrawl account data. The privacy policy is at https://pagecrawl.io/privacy-policy/mobile-app

What's new

Adds optional Assistant mode reconnects, with a fixed interval and adjustable idle wait. Relay requests a short monitoring pause before disconnecting and resumes after mobile data returns. Assistant mode requires your explicit selection and an awake, unlocked phone. Your carrier may keep the same IP. Includes reconnect recovery, connection improvements and an in-app privacy policy link.
