Full description
Field Reader is the app meter readers use to record readings out on their route. Sign in, see the meters assigned to you for the month, photograph each one and type in what it reads. That is the whole job. It is a work app. Accounts are issued by the utility and there is no sign-up, so if you are a customer looking to check or pay a bill, this is not the app you want — you would not be able to sign in. WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL Coverage is unreliable in the places meters actually live: basements, back walls, the far end of a housing scheme. So a reading is saved on the phone the moment you take it, and sent on as soon as there is a connection again. You can work a whole route with no signal and lose nothing. The app tells you plainly what is still waiting to be sent, so you never have to guess whether your work got through. ON THE ROUTE • Your meters for the current billing month, each showing where it stands • Rejected readings sorted to the top with the reason shown, so you know what needs redoing • Search by customer name, meter number or reference • Net-metering meters get their own form for the import and export registers EVIDENCE THAT HOLDS UP Every photo is taken with the camera — never picked from your gallery — and stamped with your name, the meter reference and the exact time before it is sent. If a reading is ever questioned, the photo shows who took it and when. The app also speaks up before you submit something that looks wrong: a figure ten times last month's, or one that has not moved at all. Far easier to check while you are standing at the meter than to correct after the bills go out. PRIVACY • No location tracking. The app never asks where you are, and strips any location the camera attached to a photo. • No advertising and no analytics of any kind. • Nothing is shared with anyone else. Your work goes to the utility you work for. WHAT YOU NEED An account from the utility, and a connection to sign in and load your route. After that you can work offline. Built by Onpoint XS. Powers HUBS, the Housing Utility Billing System.
