Sid

Sid looks after your battery while you sleep. Plenty of electric cars have no charge limit of their own. You plug in at night, the car fills to 100%, and there is nothing in the car to stop it. Sid is the missing piece between your car and your charger. It watches the battery, and when it reaches the percent you picked, it stops the charge. GETTING IN Sid is invite-only while we grow it carefully. Request an invite at sidapp.eu and we will email you a personal link to make your account. Then sign in here. WHAT SID DOES • Stops at your target. Pick a battery percent. Sid stops the charge when the car gets there, so it never sits charged past your set target overnight. • Charges in your window. Set the hours you want charging to happen. Sid starts and stops inside that window. • Charge now and stop now. Two buttons on the home screen. Charge now starts a charge straight away and Stop ends it. Your schedule carries on as normal. • Tells you when it cannot see. If Sid loses contact with your car, it says so on the screen. It does not go quiet and pretend everything is fine. • Honest about stale readings. A battery percent that is a few minutes old is labelled as old, not dressed up as live. • Warm up before you leave. Ask Sid to precondition the car, once or on a schedule. • Your data stays yours. Export everything Sid holds about you, or delete your account and its data from inside the app. WHAT SID WORKS WITH Cars: Renault, through your myRenault account. Chargers: Zappi, tested on a real one. Ohme and Easee are wired in but not yet proven on a real charger. You can also run Sid with no smart charger at all, in which case Sid works through the car. Turn it on during setup and you can see the home screen, the schedule and the buttons before you connect anything real. HOW IT WORKS You make your account from the link in your invite email, sign in with your email address and password, connect your car account and your charger, and Sid takes it from there.
