RainCue: Rain Alert App

A rain alarm that only goes off when it affects you. RainCue watches the sky over your areas and warns you before the rain starts. It is not another weather app with seven days and a cloud icon: it is an alarm for the exact moment you were about to head out. YOUR ROUTINES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE Tell it when you leave for work, when you hang the laundry or when you walk the dog. RainCue watches only those moments. • If rain is coming during your slot, it warns you ahead of time and tells you when it starts. • If there is a dry gap before, it tells you: sometimes leaving ten minutes earlier is enough. • If it is not going to rain, it says nothing. That silence is the feature, not the lack of one. Most days RainCue gets it right by staying quiet, which is why you can keep it installed without it becoming one more annoying app. THE RADAR MAP When you open it you see where it is raining right now: radar for most of Europe, the US and Canada, with the last hour animated and a forecast for the next one. It tells you how far away the nearest rain is and whether it is coming closer or moving away. Where there is no radar, the app says so instead of showing a clean map that looks like "no rain". ALERTS THAT ARRIVE IN TIME • Choose the area you want watched: home, work, the village. • Set how much rain matters to you: from drizzle to downpours only. • Set quiet hours and sleep in peace. • Test the alert whenever you like, so you know how it sounds before you need it. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN • A widget with the minutes until the rain, without opening the app. HONEST ABOUT THE DATA Forecast precision is not the same everywhere, and the app tells you on screen instead of pretending. Where there is fine-grained weather radar you get exact minutes; where there is not, the app talks in hours and says "rain possible" instead of promising. We would rather tell you we do not know than make up a time. Data from MET Norway, national weather services and the European OPERA radar, with their attribution visible in the app. NO ACCOUNTS, NO SIGN-UP There is no account to create and no email to give. We do not know who you are. We store the coordinates of the areas you choose so we can watch them, and you can delete everything from the settings with one button. Your location is only used if you tap "use my location", and only that once: the app does not follow you around or read where you are in the background. FREE, AND PREMIUM WITH ONE PAYMENT The free version watches one area and one routine, and shows ads that never appear when rain is coming. Premium is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and includes: • No ads. • As many routines as you like at once. • Up to 5 areas: home, work, the village… and the alert tells you which one. • The morning summary: your day of rain and your routines in one quiet notification. • A widget with the rain of the next 2 hours and the next routine that gets wet.
