GraySky Weather

GraySky tells you when the rain starts and when it stops. It reads the same forecast models and the same radar that the National Weather Service uses. WHAT YOU GET Rain timing. A chart shows the next 24 hours. The app gives you the start time, the chance, and how much rain to expect. Live radar. Pan and zoom a full-screen map. A time bar moves the radar back through the last hours and forward into the next hours. Lightning strikes and warning polygons draw on the same map. Severe weather alerts. GraySky sends a notification when the National Weather Service issues a warning for your place. You choose the hazards you care about and the severity that starts a notification. Tap wind, cloud cover, dew point, air quality, drought, or climate records to open the full page. YOUR PLACES Save the places that matter to you. Each place keeps its own alert settings, so your home and your parents' town can wake your phone for different things. PRIVACY GraySky asks for an approximate location only. It never asks for your precise location, because the forecast grid is about 2.5 km wide and a precise fix cannot change the forecast. There is no advertising network in this app and no third-party analytics. WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM The forecast comes from NOAA models, mainly the National Blend of Models and the HRRR. The radar comes from the MRMS national mosaic. The watches, the warnings and the written products come from the National Weather Service.
