Optionally switch to the ML Kit Chinese recognition engine (one-time model download, then fully offline). ■ 2-COLUMN LAYOUTS, REORDERED Two-column layouts in papers and textbooks are detected and reflowed into natural reading order. Line-break normalization and smart sentence splitting keep the narration flowing — no jumping lines, no column crossover. ■ SENTENCE-BY-SENTENCE HIGHLIGHTING The text highlights exactly where it is being read. Auto page-turn and cross-page continuation keep the story moving. Jump to the previous or next sentence anytime, and pick a speed from 0.75x to 2.0x (6 levels). ■ PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND Media-session foreground service with a notification control bar — playback continues with the screen off or the app in background.
