Vanshavli: Trusted Family Tree

Vanshavli is a private family tree for Indian families and communities who want to keep their vanshavali, their family lineage, in one trusted place. It is built together by the people who know the family best: parents, grandparents, cousins and in-laws. No strangers are involved. INVITATION-ONLY, BY DESIGN There is no public sign-up. You join when a relative invites you, usually through a WhatsApp link, and your place in the tree is already waiting for you. Your community's tree is visible only to its members. Nobody can browse it from outside. TRUSTED BY THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW Every family has a few people who remember everything. In Vanshavli, relatives can vouch for a detail with one tap, and every entry shows who added it. Community officers review new members and sensitive changes, so the tree stays accurate and stays in the family. SEE YOUR FAMILY THREE WAYS • Family: start from any person and see their parents, partner and children up close. • Tree: walk the generations up to your ancestors and down to the youngest grandchildren. • Map: zoom out to see the whole community and how its branches connect. Tap any relative to move to them. Wherever you go, you can always find your way back to yourself. ADD FAMILY THE EASY WAY Add a father, mother, spouse or child from any card using simple guided steps. Upload a photo, crop and zoom it to fit, and it shows everywhere straight away. Names can be written in English and in Devanagari (देवनागरी), so elders see them the way they say them. HOW ARE WE RELATED? Search for anyone in your community and Vanshavli shows how you are connected to them, step by step. It helps at weddings, family gatherings, and any time someone asks whose son or daughter a person is. REMEMBER THOSE WHO CAME BEFORE Keep the memory of grandparents and ancestors alive with their dates, places, photos, and a Life & work section for education, career and honours. Departed family members are shown with respect, and their stories can be recorded by the relatives who knew them. FIND RELATIVES YOU NEVER KNEW YOU HAD As your community's tree grows, you discover family you may never have known existed: a grandfather's cousin's family in another city, or a branch that moved away generations ago. The tree shows exactly how you are related. MESSAGE FAMILY PRIVATELY, NO PHONE NUMBERS NEEDED Message relatives who have joined Vanshavli directly in the app, without ever exchanging phone numbers. Messages are end-to-end encrypted. Close family can chat straight away. A more distant relative receives a message request and decides whether to accept it. STAY CLOSE TO THE PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT Follow the relatives who matter most to you and get notified when someone joins, a detail changes, or a relative needs your confirmation. YOUR PRIVACY, YOUR CONTROL • You choose who sees your dates, places and contact details. You can limit them to close family. • Living relatives added by others get only basic details until they join and fill in their own. • No ads. We never sell your data. • You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
