Family tree

Shajara is a family tree app built around the Uzbek shajara tradition. Free, with no ads and no internet. Gather your family, see how everyone is related, record the elders' voices and trace the line back seven generations. • SEE HOW EVERYONE IS RELATED Every card shows the person's relation to you and their dates. Father-in-law, sister-in-law, great-uncle — the app names everyone for you and adds a small note: "paternal side", "wife's side". • YOUR WIFE'S FAMILY IN ONE CARD Your spouse's relatives don't crowd the tree: they fold into a "Wife's family" card that opens with a tap. Former partners fold away the same way. • EVERY KIND OF FAMILY Remarriage, divorce, widowhood, partners who never married, a child from another marriage — all recorded and drawn clearly. If a child's other parent is missing, the app asks whose child it is. • SEVEN GENERATIONS A dedicated screen for the direct line, through your father or your mother: how many generations are known and exactly where the gap is. • UZBEK KINSHIP TERMS Amaki and tog‘a, amma and xola, amakivachcha and xolavachcha — the side is worked out from the line of descent. If your family says "Doda" rather than "great-grandfather", type your own word in. • THE ELDERS' VOICES Dates can be found in an archive later; a voice cannot. Record a story in the app and attach it to the person. Photos, video and written stories too. • A TREE IN YOUR STYLE Classic tree, ribbons, or a living tree with roots and a canopy. Ornament, stars or your own picture as the backdrop. Light and dark themes. • FAMILY BOOK AND POSTER One button builds a PDF: the tree, biographies with photos, stories, statistics and a map of places. A tree poster on A4, A3 or A2 for the wall. • BIRTHDAYS Reminders ahead of time at the hour you choose, with a switch for each person. Memorial days for those who have passed, too. • STATISTICS AND DATA CHECK Average lifespan, the longest branch, common names. The app finds mistakes: a parent younger than their child, a birth after the father's death, duplicates. • EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE The app holds no internet permission — it physically cannot send anything anywhere. No accounts, no ads, no analytics. To share the tree with relatives, send them a .shajara file; the photos travel inside it. Three languages: Uzbek, Russian, English.
