Full description
A message arrives, you glance at the screen, and it is gone before you read it — swiped away by accident, cleared with the rest of the shade, or deleted by the person who sent it. Unvanish keeps a copy for you. Unvanish is a notification log. Once you grant notification access, it quietly records the notifications your phone receives and keeps them in a clean, searchable list on the device. When something disappears from the notification shade, it is still there in Unvanish. WHAT IT DOES • Saves incoming notifications from your messaging apps and everything else — chats, SMS, email, reminders, delivery updates • Keeps messages that were deleted or unsent by the sender, and ones you cleared by mistake • Handles group chats properly: each new message is captured and numbered as it arrives, instead of collapsing into one line • Shows the sender's name and profile picture where the app provides one • Filters by app, with a bar that reorders itself by recency — pin up to 4 apps to keep your favourites in a fixed place • Search across everything you have captured • Tap any entry to open the app it came from • Swipe to delete a single message, with undo, or clear the whole log at once • Light theme, dark theme, or follow the system • Holds your most recent 500 messages, so it never grows without limit PRIVACY Unvanish is built to keep your messages where they already are: on your phone. • No account, no sign-in • No internet permission at all — the app is technically incapable of uploading anything • No ads, no trackers, no analytics • Nothing is collected, shared or sold • Clearing the log deletes it from the device for good NOTIFICATION ACCESS Unvanish uses Android's notification listener permission. That is what lets it read the notifications that arrive on your phone and save them to your own log — it is the entire function of the app, and nothing else is done with the data. You grant it yourself in Android settings, and you can revoke it there at any time. GOOD TO KNOW • Only notifications that arrive after you grant access are saved — Android does not hand over older ones • If an app posts a notification without any text, there is no text to keep • Unvanish reads notifications on this device only. It is not a way to see someone else's messages Unvanish is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Signal, Messenger or any other messaging service. All product names belong to their respective owners.

What's new

What's new in 1.2.0 • Hide notifications: choose apps whose alerts Unvanish should replace. The tray shows just the app's icon and how many are waiting — the sender and text stay hidden until you open Unvanish. • One clean notification per app, cleared automatically when you open the app. • Off by default — enable it per app in Settings > Hide notifications.
