TerraField: Ranger Comms & SOS

On a reserve, the signal drops out exactly where you need it most. TerraField keeps your team talking anyway. Pair your phone with a TerraSense radio and your messages, locations and SOS alerts travel from radio to radio across the bush, no cell towers needed. When anyone gets signal again, everything syncs to the cloud on its own. We built TerraField in South Africa, alongside rangers and reserve managers, for the places phones were never built for. WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG Press SOS and the whole team knows, even with no signal. You can say what's happening and the app writes it down for you. Muted chats never silence an SOS. SEE YOUR WHOLE TEAM Everyone on your reserve shows up on one map, along with radios, vehicles and recent sightings. Tap a name to message them, or follow the compass straight to where they are. Download offline maps before you head out. MESSAGES THAT GET THROUGH Chat one-to-one, in groups or on team channels. With signal, messages go over the internet. Without it, they go over the radio mesh. Either way you'll see when they've been delivered. LOG IT ONCE, ON THE SPOT Spotted rhino tracks? Found a broken fence? Record it by voice, text or photo with the GPS location attached. Voice notes are transcribed right on your phone, and anything you capture offline uploads when you're back in range. TASKS WITH A TRAIL Take on a task, start it and finish it. TerraField records how long it took, how far you went and the route you walked. ASK HEY TERRA Ask questions about your reserve by voice or text, like who's closest to the eastern dam. Answers come only from your own team's data. YOUR LOCATION, YOUR CALL You decide whether your location is shared, how precisely, when, and with whom. Lock the app with Face ID or your fingerprint. FOR RESERVE MANAGERS The TerraSense web portal shows your live map, people, reports, observations, tasks, attendance and vehicle activity in one place. WHAT YOU NEED • A phone running iOS 15.1 or later, or Android 7.0 or later • A TerraSense LoRa radio (Meshtastic-compatible) for working without signal.
