Full description
Every other quit-vaping app sets you back to day one when you slip. Streakless doesn't. Two counts run side by side from the day you start: days kept and days vaped. A day you vape is added to the right-hand column. Nothing on the left is erased. Both numbers are true, and neither one resets. That is the entire point of the app. WHY THE RESET IS THE PROBLEM The damage after a slip usually isn't the nicotine. It's the conclusion the person draws — that the effort is ruined, that they're back at nothing, that they may as well finish the pod. Most quit apps hand you that conclusion in a large font. Streakless is built so that a bad day costs you a day, and nothing more. A BUTTON FOR RIGHT NOW When an urge hits, the app opens with your own reason for quitting at the top — in your words, not ours. Below that, whatever you decided in advance to do in this exact situation. Then five things to try if you want one: riding it out, paced breathing, something physical, naming the thought behind the craving, or just sitting there a minute. No countdown timer anywhere. Watching a clock during a craving makes it longer. THE MONEY, HONESTLY What you've kept, and what you've spent, both visible. Set a real thing you want and the app shows how many kept days are between you and it. Quitting becomes something you're buying, not only something you're giving up. WHEN IT USUALLY HITS Name the moments you can see coming — the drive home, the first coffee, after an argument — and decide in advance what you'll do instead. The app also reads your own logs: anything you've written down twice shows up as a suggestion. WHAT IT COSTS, WHAT IT GIVES YOU Four questions, one screen at a time, starting with what vaping actually does for you. If it did nothing, you would have stopped already. Your answers come back to you mid-urge, when they're useful. AFTER A SLIP Mark the day, then answer three optional questions about what was happening right before, what the vape was doing for you, and what would need to be different. Or skip them. The day is logged either way. WHAT YOUR BODY IS DOING A withdrawal timeline that knows what day you're on, plus a plain summary of the medications that raise quit rates and who to ask about them. THE APP CHANGES AS YOU GO The first two weeks are about withdrawal. Weeks two through twelve are about situations. Past three months it's about whether you still want this and who you're around, which is what actually predicts going back that far out. The app shows you less over time. That's deliberate. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE No account. No login. No analytics. No ads. Nothing is transmitted anywhere, because there's nowhere for it to go. Delete it all from Settings whenever you want. WHAT IT'S BUILT ON Streakless uses standard behavioral techniques for changing a habit: urge surfing, functional analysis, stimulus control, and cost-benefit work. The structure of the app follows what the research says about when and why people go back, which changes depending on how long it has been. It is a self-monitoring tool. It is not treatment, it is not medical advice, and using it does not create a therapist-client relationship. It is not for use in a crisis. Crisis and treatment lines are one tap from the home screen. If you are quitting nicotine, talk to a prescriber or a pharmacist about medication. It roughly doubles your odds. This app is a tool alongside that, not a replacement for it. Free. No subscription.
