Jot : Schmapps Live

Write it down in two seconds. We will show it again when it is useful. A thought arrives while you are doing something else. Most to-do apps want you to file it: pick a list, set a priority, choose a date. By the time you have done all that, you have lost the thing you were actually doing. Jot takes the thought and lets you decide later. Type it. That is the whole capture. Open the app, write it down, done. No list to choose, no date to set, no priority to assign. Undated things land in the Inbox and wait for you. You can add a date if you have one. Write "call the dentist tomorrow at 2" and it understands you, so a task that does have a time still takes one line. Today is a question, not a pile Today does not show you everything you have ever written down. It shows what is actually due, what you chose to bring forward, and things that have quietly come back for another look. Pick My One Thing, and the single task that matters most today sits at the top. One. Not a top three. Not Today The button every other to-do app is missing. Some days a task is simply not happening. Tap Not Today and it steps out of the way until tomorrow. Its deadline is not moved and nothing is rescheduled behind your back, because pretending a deadline shifted is how a list starts lying to you. It just stops asking today. Things come back on their own Write down something that matters but has no deadline, and it will not rot in a list you never open. Undated tasks resurface after a few days, a week, or however long you choose, labelled as resurfaced rather than pretending to be due. The daily review Once a day, if you want it, Jot walks you through what is still open on Today, one task at a time. Finish it, move it, push it out, or leave it alone. Nothing moves unless you say so. No streaks. No score. No guilt. There is no streak to break. No completion percentage. No badge counting up how far behind you are. Jot keeps no score, and on a day when nothing needs your attention it says so and gets out of your way. Everything stays on your phone No account. No sign-in. No cloud. It works entirely offline, and everything you write is stored on this device and nowhere else. The advertising code cannot read your tasks. The free version shows one small advertisement at the bottom of some list screens. Never on Today, never while you are writing or editing a task, and never during the daily review.
