KnotStep Offline

KnotStep is an offline-first climbing knot practice coach built around a fullscreen rope-stage diagram. Cold start opens the live knot stage: a large numbered diagram of the current tying step, a bold Next Step control, and a rope-end checklist so you can verify standing end, working end, bite, tail length, and load orientation before you mark the knot dressed and done. No camera and no account—just clear stage diagrams, local progress, and gym-bag ready practice at the crag, the gym, or the couch. Tap through each sequential stage of essential climbing knots, confirm every dressing point on the checklist, then stamp Dress & Done when the sequence finishes cleanly. Short offline safety tip chips appear on critical steps (dress direction, tail minimum, common failure modes) without leaving the stage UI. Seed library of core climbing knots with use tags Belay, Anchor, Hitch, and Join: • Figure-eight follow-through • Bowline • Clove hitch • Italian / Munter • Prusik • Alpine butterfly • Double fisherman • Overhand on a bight Filter the library by Beginner, Intermediate, or Anchor-critical difficulty, or search by knot name. Pin favorites and a Gym Pin so the next cold start jumps straight into your warm-up drill. Every practice session is stored on device: start time, stages completed, checklist marks, and a Dress & Done stamp. The progress board per knot shows attempts, clean finishes, last practiced date, and a simple mastery bar driven by repeated clean completions. Review a practice history log with session cards and an editable notes field for your own cues. Offline preferences keep the app fitted to you: default start knot, high-contrast rope on dark slate, left- or right-handed Next button side, and a checklist required-before-done lock. Learn the sequence. Dress it clean. Repeat until the knot is automatic—wherever you train.
