Full description
Persistent pain occupies the brain. It captures attention, crowds working memory, and makes every task switch more costly. It is called pain-related cognitive interference, and it can be worked on. PhysioMemory brings together ten short games. Each one takes a task used in research or neuropsychology and narrows it to a single function. Everything runs offline: no account, no ads, no data collection. ▸ THE TEN GAMES • The Temple Guardian — the n-back task, the reference for working memory. • The Passage of Numbers — the PASAT, adding at an imposed pace. • The Sequence Master — finding positions again, in order. • The Tribunal of Shapes — sort by colour, then by shape; the rule changes on its own. • The Gate of Concentration — the oddball paradigm, reacting to the rare stimulus. • The Detective's Eye — recognising an image seen seconds earlier. • The Trial of Faces — the dot-probe task: where does your gaze go? • The Mirror Kingdom — answer the opposite of what you see. • Caddie Commando — memorise a list, then find it on the shelves. • Caddie Commando II — the same list, but you have to go and get it: drag the trolley through the aisles with your finger and get back to the till as fast as you can. ▸ THE RULE IS SHOWN, NOT READ Before each round, a small animation plays the rule in four or five frames. A written instruction gets read three times; a rule seen once is understood. ▸ FIVE LEVELS, FROM DISCOVERY TO EXPERT A slider that glides, a gauge placing the level on the full scale, and one line saying what the level actually changes — because ""Medium"" means nothing on its own. ▸ YOUR RESULTS, UNFILTERED Score, accuracy, best streak, average reaction time, duration. A full history, never truncated, and one button to erase it all. ▸ A PAGE THAT ALSO SAYS WHAT IT DOES NOT KNOW Each game names the task it comes from — Kirchner's n-back, Gronwall's PASAT, MacLeod's dot-probe, the oddball paradigm and its P300 wave, Corsi blocks — and explains what it trains. One card states plainly what the literature does not settle: training reliably improves the trained task, but transfer to everyday life is still debated. ▸ BUILT FOR REAL USE • No permissions. No data collected. No trackers. • Sounds synthesised in the app, adjustable, switchable off. • French and English. • Adapts to phone, tablet and landscape. PhysioMemory complements PhysioDex and PhysioGMI, which carry the three phases of Graded Motor Imagery. Built by a physiotherapist. These games are a complement to activity and self-observation, not a treatment for pain, and do not replace a diagnosis, medical advice, or follow-up care.
