PerliStairs: Stairlift Guide

PerliStairs is a field reference for four stairlift models: every fault code, the wiring, the test points and the service-mode programming, bundled inside the app so it opens in a stairwell with no signal. It is written for the person who services the lift. There is a second, deliberately plain mode for the person who owns one, which helps you describe what yours is doing to the engineer you are about to ring. That mode does not diagnose anything and is not a substitute for an engineer — it says so before it says anything else. FOR THE ENGINEER - A quick-reference card for each lift — the screen the app opens on. - Search every code and every procedure across all four lifts at once. - Fault-code tables carrying the manufacturer's own wording beside a plain-English line. - Wiring, board layouts and test points as diagrams you can pinch, rotate and swipe through. - Service-mode programming step by step, with the traps called out. - A parts index that links a component named in the text to a photograph of it. - Guided assessment: which lift, what it is doing, then narrow it down. Every outcome cites the page it came from. - The manual pages themselves, browsable and searchable, on the device. FOR SOMEONE WHOSE LIFT HAS STOPPED - Pick what the lift is doing from a list written in ordinary words. - Read the code off the display two ways: photograph it and let the phone read it, or tap the character that matches yours on a drawn seven-segment display. - Owner-safe checks only — the charge point, the armrests, the emergency stop, the mains switch. Nothing in this mode asks anyone to open a cover, touch anything electrical or move the lift by hand. - Put it together as a short report — the code, the checks you made, a photo or a video — and send it to your engineer from the share sheet. - If the lift is behaving unexpectedly, the app's answer is to stop using it and call your engineer. READING THE CODE OFF A PHOTO The recogniser runs on the phone and the photo is never sent anywhere. It only offers codes that exist on the lift you picked, and labels them "most likely", "likely" or "possible" — words, not a percentage, because it is a suggestion to check against the table, not an answer. WHAT IT COSTS PerliStairs is free, with ads: a Google AdMob banner at the foot of the Lifts list and of Settings. There is no full-screen ad, and no ad on the quick-reference cards, search, a model page, a diagram, the assessment or the owner's mode. Nothing to buy, no subscription and no account. Ads are served by Google AdMob, with your consent where the law requires it. WITH NO SIGNAL The whole guide ships inside the app — the code tables, the diagrams and every manual page. Everything except Ask works with the phone in flight mode. ASK Ask is the one screen that needs a connection. Type a question in ordinary words and an AI assistant answers it from the bundled guide. Your question, and the slice of the guide it is answered from, are sent to our server. Apart from the ads, nothing else in the app talks to a server. PRIVACY - No account, no sign-in, no email address, no password. - Your photos, your videos and your notes stay on the phone until you choose to share them yourself. - Settings stay on the device. - Optional usage counts are off unless you turn them on. They never include what you searched for, what you asked, or any photo. - No location, no contacts, no microphone.
