HOW IT WORKS Point your camera at an ingredients list, choose a photo from your gallery, or just type the list in — Scanient reads it and shows you what's really in your food. WHAT YOU'LL SEE For every ingredient, Scanient tells you: - Whether it's a natural ingredient or a food additive - A short, plain-language description of what it is - Its E-number, if it has one - Whether it's vegan or vegetarian, where known - Its NOVA food processing group, where known THREE WAYS TO CHECK A LABEL - Scan — point your camera at the label and let on-device text recognition do the rest - Choose Photo — pick an existing photo from your gallery - Enter Manually — type or paste an ingredients list directly WORKS OFFLINE Scanient's ingredient database is built into the app, so looking up an ingredient doesn't need an internet connection. Your scans and photos are processed entirely on your device — nothing is uploaded to look up an ingredient. BUILT FOR CLARITY - Natural and Additive badges, at a glance - Vegan / vegetarian status shown clearly - Long descriptions collapse to a few lines, with "Show more" when you want detail - Light and dark themes WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM Ingredient and additive information is provided by Open Food Facts contributors, an open, collaborative food database, used under the Open Database License. A FEW HONEST LIMITATIONS Ingredient data is community-contributed and may occasionally be incomplete or out of date. Not every scanned ingredient will be found yet. Scanient is a tool to help you read labels more easily — it is not a medical app, and it should not replace reading the actual product packaging or consulting a doctor or dietitian for allergy, medical, or dietary decisions.
