DadoStack Width

DadoStack Width is an offline-first dado-stack width card for cabinetmakers, trim carpenters, and serious hobby woodworkers who need a real stacked dado set to hit a target groove—before the arbor spins. Cold start opens a fullscreen chip-stack workbench. Outer blades stay fixed on the left and right; chippers and shims appear as tappable chips you add or remove. The live stack total and leftover (or overshoot) update in thousandths of an inch—or metric—so you see the geometry, not a bare calculator sheet. How it helps at the saw • Enter any target groove, or grab quick presets: 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, and 1 in, plus a custom keypad in thousandths. • Build against your real kit: store outer-blade kerf pair, chipper thicknesses, and shim pack (0.001–0.020) locally; every stack uses your inventory. • One-tap add/remove on each chip; long-press confirms thickness. Stack order mirrors arbor build—outers outside, chippers and shims nested. • Auto-match suggest: given target and kit, get a near-zero leftover recipe you can accept or tweak. • Saved setup cards: name a job (e.g. shelf dado 3/4 ply), keep target, recipe chips, leftover, and kerf note—edit, duplicate, or delete. • Kerf calibration sheet: measure a test cut, lock actual outer-pair kerf so leftovers stay honest across plywood brands. • Unit mode: imperial thou or metric 0.01 mm, with preference stored and math converted cleanly. • Plain-text recipe share/export from any setup (stack list, total, leftover) via the system share sheet—no account required. First launch includes a seed shop kit and sample setups for common ply grooves and rail dados, so the app is usable at the saw immediately. Everything runs offline. No accounts, no cloud dependency—just visual stack geometry for the saw bay. Dial the groove. Tap the chips. Lock the leftover. Then cut.
