HuntCast: Hunting Forecast

Planning a hunt around shifting winds and fading light can ruin a sit before it starts. Misjudging the scent cone or losing track of legal shooting time costs opportunities. Generic weather apps don’t know your stands. HuntCast does. It scores today’s wind against each stand’s optimal scent setup, counts down to legal light, and answers go, wait, or skip in one line — then lets you start a sit, freeze the conditions, and learn from your own history. Forecasts, stands, notes, photos, and hunt logs stay on your device so you still have intel when the signal dies. Scent-smart wind & stands • Wind compass & scent cone — rate current wind PERFECT, MARGINAL, or BLOWN against each stand’s preferred directions. • Stand library & map — save stands with GPS or manual coords and optimal winds (free: 2; Pro: unlimited). Map pins show live wind overlay and scent rating. • Daily stand ranking — Pro ranks every saved stand for today’s wind/scent match. Precision timing & scoring • Legal shooting light countdown — live start/end from stand coordinates with adjustable offsets and jurisdiction presets (Pro). Times are estimates and not legal advice — always know local laws and seasons. • Hunt decision line + Score dial — plain-language go / wait / skip plus a 0–100 hunt window score from wind, pressure, Solunar, legal light, and Game fit for what’s hot in your region today. • Plan your week — per-day outlook during legal light with best day and peak hour. Free covers about three days; Pro unlocks the full week. • Morning brief + spoken brief — glanceable legal light and wind (free). Pro adds pressure, moon activity, and best-stand pick. Tap to hear the brief while you gear up. • Morning brief alert — optional local notification with today’s score and legal light before you leave the house. • Home-screen widget (Android) — glanceable score, legal light, and wind for your active stand (Pro score). Long-press home → Widgets → HuntCast. • Current conditions — wind, pressure trend, temperature, and moon beside the scent dashboard. Game intel & field prep • Offline 56-species North American catalog — big game, turkey, waterfowl, upland, small game, and predators with seasonal behavior, mood, and calls/scents/decoys. • Game today — five regional common species ranked for conditions; optional Settings toggles pull in small game and/or predators. • Gear checklist — pack for today’s temp, wind, precip, and focus species. Private hunt logs & insights • Start/end sits from the dashboard — conditions freeze at start; close with saw nothing / saw game / harvested. • Notes & photos — on-device attachments (free limits; Pro unlimited). • Stand insights — Pro shows what wind and pressure actually produced for you (optional rewarded peek for a session). • Share hunt plan — PNG card for text or group chat; Pro (or one-time rewarded peek) shares without a promo footer. Built for the field • Offline-first — stands, logs, photos, cached forecasts, and the bundled game catalog work after a prior sync. • No mandatory account — no social sightings feed, no cloud sync of your private spots. • Tactical Red — Pro OLED-friendly deep-red night-vision theme. • Daylight reading — text size and high contrast settings. HuntCast Pro Unlimited stands, full stand ranking, 7-day planning, Solunar charts, full game intel, hunt score detail, full morning brief, pressure-drop alerts, insights, notes, photos, home widget score, Tactical Red, and ad-free hunts. Free covers the sit you’re on today, with optional rewarded peeks for Solunar, hourly scores, full game intel, or a full morning brief. Stop guessing the wind. Rank the stand, plan the week, log the sit, and hunt with scent-smart intel that works offline. Disclaimer: Legal light times are estimates and do not constitute legal advice.
