Full description
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER FOR USERS AND GOOGLE PLAY: This app is NOT an official app of NHTSA, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry or BSN, and is NOT affiliated with any tire or vehicle manufacturer. All brand and manufacturer names shown in this app are for reference only and belong to their respective owners. This app is simply a tool that explains the codes printed on a tire sidewall, based on commonly used tire marking standards. DATA SOURCES & REFERENCES: The tire plant code list (DOT codes) comes from public data of the U.S. NHTSA: https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/ . The production date format follows U.S. regulation 49 CFR 574.5, load index and speed rating tables follow common tire marking standards, and SNI information refers to Indonesian Minister of Industry Regulation No. 9 of 2025. --- Not sure how to read a tire code? Wondering what 185/65 R15 88H or 80/90-14 40P means, or how old your tires are? Cek Kode Ban explains the code on your car or motorcycle tire quickly and simply! Did you know? The markings on a tire are not random. The sidewall shows the size, load index, speed rating, factory code and the production week and year. Knowing them helps you choose the right replacement tire and find out how old your tires are. MAIN FEATURES: 1. Tire Size Decoder for Cars & Motorcycles Type a size such as 185/65 R15 88H or 80/90-14 40P and tap Search. The app explains the width, aspect ratio, construction (radial or bias), rim diameter, overall diameter and circumference, maximum load and maximum speed. Supports metric sizes, inch sizes (2.75-17), motorcycle alpha sizes (MT90-16) and flotation sizes (31x10.50R15). 2. DOT Code, Production Date & Tire Age Enter a DOT code (e.g. DOT 1Y9 9XY2 3624) or just the 4-digit date code (e.g. 2423). The app shows the production week and year, the tire age, and the manufacturer and country of the plant based on the plant code. 3. Tire Size Calculator Planning a bigger or smaller tire? Compare your current size with a new one: difference in diameter, circumference, ride height and speedometer reading. 4. Tire Symbol Dictionary The meaning of sidewall markings: TL/TT, XL, M+S, PR, TWI, Outside/Inside, rotation arrows, UTQG, E-mark, SNI and more. Includes the load index table (0–279), the speed rating table and E-mark country codes. 5. Two Languages, Light & Easy A simple black-and-white design that is easy to read, in English and Indonesian (follows your phone language). The codes you type are not stored and are not sent to any server. WHAT CAN IT DECODE? - Tire type (motorcycle, passenger car, light truck/SUV, commercial, temporary spare) - Width, aspect ratio and rim diameter - Construction (radial, bias/diagonal, bias-belted) - Overall diameter and circumference - Load index (maximum load per tire in kg and lbs) - Speed rating (maximum speed in km/h and mph) - Extra marks such as XL, Reinforced, Tubeless and Tube Type - DOT plant code: manufacturer, city and country of the plant - Production date: week and year of manufacture, and tire age WHO IS IT FOR? - Car and motorcycle owners who want to understand their tire code. - Buyers of new tires who want to check the production date before paying. - Buyers of used tires or vehicles who want to know the tire age. - Workshops, tire shops and anyone learning how to read a tire sidewall. HOW TO USE: Open Check, type the tire size and/or the DOT code printed on the sidewall, and tap Search. To compare two sizes, open Calculator. For other markings, open Symbols. Additional Note: This app only explains the codes printed on a tire and does not judge whether a tire is still safe to use. Calculator results are theoretical. Always follow the sizes and inflation pressures recommended by your vehicle manufacturer, and have your tires inspected by a professional. The middle part of a DOT code is the manufacturer's internal code and cannot be decoded publicly.
