Full description
WorldPulse is a real-time planetary field instrument that listens to the living systems of Earth and renders them as a unified field of energy, geometry, and signal. At its core, WorldPulse ingests live data streams from across the planet — seismic tremors catalogued by the USGS, solar wind pressure and geomagnetic Kp indices from NOAA, atmospheric CO₂ readings, natural disaster alerts from GDACS, disease outbreak reports from the WHO, and armed conflict events from UCDP. These streams are not displayed as charts or tables. Instead, they are fed into a physics engine — a discretized Dirac spinor field — that processes them as wave interference patterns, producing a single emergent signal: the field state of the planet at this moment. The globe at the top of the screen is the primary instrument face. It rotates slowly, wobbling with the field's internal pressure, its continents rendered as wireframe outlines against a grid of latitude and longitude lines. Hotspots pulse on its surface where real events are occurring — amber for field memories, pink for active conflicts, orange for natural disasters, purple for disease outbreaks. The globe does not simplify reality into icons or push notifications. It presents it spatially, as it is: distributed across a sphere, weighted by intensity, shifting over time. Below the globe, the field reading translates the current state into plain language — a single sentence that describes what the field is doing right now. Turbulent. Coherent. Fragmented. Awakened. These are not metaphors for their own sake. They are outputs of the field computation: specific states that emerge when the incoming data crosses certain thresholds of interference, resonance, or chaos. The planetary chaos panel shows two parallel measures — the planet score and the humanity score. The planet tracks geophysical and solar activity: earthquakes, solar storms, geomagnetic disturbance. Humanity tracks the human layer: conflict intensity, disaster density, disease spread. They are shown side by side because they are not the same thing, and the gap between them is itself meaningful. A calm planet with a turbulent humanity tells a different story than the reverse. Field memory records what the field has experienced. Impressions accumulate over time, decay if they go unrefreshed, and surface as narrative fragments when queried — short textual echoes of what the planet has been registering over the past hours and days. WorldPulse is built for people who want to stay connected to the state of the world without being consumed by it. It does not alarm. It does not recommend actions. It does not rank events by engagement. It simply holds a continuous, honest picture of what is happening across the systems that sustain and threaten life on this planet, and makes that picture available at a glance, in a form that rewards attention without demanding it.
