Full description
DESIGNED TO BE USED, NOT WATCHED. Most breathing apps are something you watch — an instructor, a video, a soundtrack. Breath Up is something you do. Open it, choose a technique, and follow one circle as it expands and contracts. A countdown ticks. Your phone goes in your pocket. That's the whole app. No instructor talking over you. No licensed music. No five-dimensional soundscape. No streak guilt. Just a quiet, off-white breathwork timer that respects your time and your intelligence. ELEVEN BREATHING TECHNIQUES — EACH WITH A REASON. Every technique comes with a plain-language note on why it works and who uses it. No hype, no medical promises. • Box Breathing — a four-count on every side, equal parts in and out. The one that works under pressure. • 4-7-8 Breathing — inhale four, hold seven, exhale eight. The long, asymmetric exhale that slows you down before sleep. • Coherent Breathing — five seconds in, five seconds out. The pace where heart-rate variability (HRV) peaks. • Physiological Sigh — two short inhales, one long exhale. The fastest way to bring yourself down, measured in seconds. • Diaphragmatic Breathing — into the belly, not the chest. The foundation every other technique is built on. • Alternate Nostril (Nadi Shodhana) — a 2,000-year-old focus practice from the pranayama tradition. • Bhramari — a soft hum on the exhale; the body settles around the sound. • Ujjayi — a gentle ocean breath you can hear, and pace yourself to. • Lion's Breath — an open-mouth exhale for whatever feels stuck. • Sitali — cool air across the tongue, for hot days and hot moments. • Triangle Breathing — three sides, no second hold. The simplest way to start a paced practice. Plus a Custom pattern builder: set your own inhale, hold, and exhale timings, and run them. SIX DAY-BY-DAY PROGRAMS. Prefer a path to a menu? Follow one, a few minutes a day: • 21 Days of Stillness • 7 Nights to Better Sleep • 7 Days of Focus • 14-Day Burnout Recovery • 7-Day Morning Practice • 7-Day Panic Practice BUILT LIKE A TOOL. • Works fully offline. No account, no sign-up, no internet required. • Keeps running with the screen off and the phone in your pocket. • Gentle haptics mark each phase, so you can breathe with your eyes closed. • Six calm audio cues — bell, chime, gong, bowl, glass — or complete silence. • A home-screen widget: one tap to a single breath, skipping every other screen. • A daily reminder you set once and forget — or turn off entirely. • Your streak and minutes are tracked on-device. No leaderboards, no comparison, no guilt. NO SUBSCRIPTION TRAP. Three techniques are free to use forever — no trial, no account. Unlock everything with a monthly or annual plan, or buy it once with the lifetime option and never see a charge again. The choice, including the choice to pay nothing, stays yours. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT. Your sessions stay on your device. Nothing about your practice is uploaded or sold. Payments are handled by Google Play; nothing else leaves your phone. — Breath Up is a wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Do not perform breathwork while driving or operating machinery. Consult a physician first if you are pregnant, epileptic, hypertensive, or living with a cardiovascular condition. Stop if you feel dizzy.

What's new

The app has been redrawn. Warm paper, clay accents, editorial type, far fewer boxes — quieter to look at, easier to read. Session opens on a new visual, Aura, with softer audio cues. Every technique now describes its effect in plain language. Settings has a switch to turn off usage data. Also fixed: mixed-language text on non-English devices, the serif not loading on some phones, sessions failing to start, and a safety notice that could cover the intro.
