Tamweeh: Blur Face & Redact

A photo is quick to send and impossible to take back. Tamweeh covers what should not travel with it: a face, an ID number, an IBAN, an address, a signature. Faces are found for you. Tap once and every face in the picture gets an oval; add more or take any of them away. For everything a detector cannot know, drag a rectangle, an oval, or paint over it with the brush. Why the covered area really is gone Most apps lay a layer over the picture. This one removes the pixels. Every marked area is first reduced to at most ten values along its longest edge and only then scaled back up. A plain blur merely folds the pixels together and can be computed back; discarded resolution cannot. Even the weakest setting stays below that line, and an automated test measures it before every release. Four ways to cover Blur for faces. Pixels when the shape should still be recognisable. Location and camera data are dropped too A holiday photo carries the place it was taken, the camera model, and the exact second. That data is not written into the new picture. Turn the removal off if you would rather keep it. Nothing leaves your phone The picture is processed on your device. There is no account, no upload, no cloud. The app does not need access to your whole photo library either - on newer Android versions you hand it exactly the one picture you chose. Automatic text finding reads Latin letters and digits - which is what ID numbers, IBANs, and dates are made of - not Arabic script. The app shows a banner on the start, files, and settings screens, never while you are working on a picture.
