Full description
Measure sound without ads, trackers, analytics or an account. Ethicq Sound Meter measures current sound level and noise exposure, saves sessions, and keeps the measurement uncertainty with each reading. Every measurement feature is free. Choose A, C or Z weighting and Slow, Fast, Impulse or 1 s Leq response. Track current level, LAeq, minimum, maximum and LCpeak. Calculate noise dose and time to limit using NIOSH or OSHA criteria. Calibrate the app, save calibration profiles, use supported external microphones, and export measurements as CSV. The free tier stores seven days of history. Pro is a one-time purchase and adds unlimited history, share cards, and session comparison. There is no subscription. Pro does not change what the app can measure or calculate. Session comparison answers a specific question: did the sound actually change? It uses the uncertainty of both saved measurements and will not call a difference when the measurements cannot support one. Saved sessions can include notes and reports, so you can return to what you measured and the conditions around it. Spoken readings, widgets, a Quick Settings tile, sunlight mode and accessibility options help when you are measuring away from the main screen. Ethicq Sound Meter reports uncertainty with its measurements. If the microphone clips, the peak is reported as a lower bound rather than as an exact value. A phone is not a certified Class 1 or Class 2 sound level meter. Ethicq Sound Meter is not a hearing test and makes no medical claim.

What's new

A sound level meter with uncertainty shown beside every reading, plus one screen naming the four things that limit measurement on your phone. Compare saved sessions using the uncertainty of both measurements. Track noise exposure as a NIOSH or OSHA dose, with time to limit while a session runs. No ads, trackers, analytics, or account. Every measurement feature is free.
