During an active driving session, the app maintains a continuous connection with the ELD device to record driving events, update Hours of Service (HOS) information, and ensure uninterrupted electronic logging. While an active driving session is in progress, ROYAL ELOG uses a foreground service to maintain the connection with the ELD device and continue receiving and recording driving events when the app is running in the background. This allows ROYAL ELOG to maintain up-to-date HOS information without requiring the app to remain open on the screen. If the foreground service is interrupted during an active driving session, continuous communication with the ELD device and recording of driving events may be interrupted. The foreground service remains active for the duration of the active driving session and ends when the session is completed. ROYAL ELOG uses a foreground service while an active trip is in progress to support these real-time functions.
