Guard Ace: Security Grades

⚠️ NOT A GOVERNMENT APP: Guard Ace is an independent study aid. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with PSIRA, SASSETA, any training provider or any government entity. It does not issue grades, certificates or registration, and it is not legal advice. For South African security officers: study for your grades, and keep the tools you need on the job. ★ GRADES E, D, C, B AND A Practice questions for every grade, from patrol officer to site manager: patrolling and observation, access control and searching, radio, firefighting, reports and statements, bomb threats, arrest and force, supervision, crime scenes, investigations, court and managing people. Every answer explains why and cites its source. ★ FIREARM COMPETENCY THEORY From Grade C: the firearms law paper (unit standard 117705), handgun and shotgun theory, private defence, and mock papers for each. Handling is learned on the range; this prepares you for the theory. ★ SCENARIO DRILLS "A visitor refuses to be searched. What do you do?" Real situations from the gate, the patrol and the control room. ★ MOCK EXAMS Sit a mock for your grade. Set the pass mark your training provider uses. ★ RADIO TRAINER The phonetic alphabet with audio, reading registrations over the radio, procedure words like Roger, Wilco, Over and Out, and a 60-second speed round. ★ STATEMENT AND INCIDENT REPORT BUILDER Write a clear statement step by step: who, what, when, where, witnesses and action taken. Get a warning if you use am/pm or guesses, then copy or share it. ★ "CAN I...?" LEGAL CHECKS Can I arrest this person? Can I search this bag? Can I use force? Someone will not leave the site. Must I show my PSIRA card? Answer a few questions and see what the law says, with the section it comes from. ★ YOUR CAREER Who can register, which grade you need, the steps for new entrants, and renewal. A reminder before your PSIRA certificate expires. A job-ready pack with a document checklist, CV builder and interview questions. What your employer owes you under the Code of Conduct and the OHS Act. ★ WORKS WITHOUT DATA Everything is on your phone. No account, no sign-up. ★ OFFICIAL SOURCES Content is written from these public sources, and each is linked in the app under Settings - Sources: • Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA): https://www.psira.co.za/ • PSIRA - legislation, regulations and Code of Conduct: https://www.psira.co.za/index.php/legislation • PSIRA - accredited training providers: https://digitalservices.psira.co.za/accredited-tp • Criminal Procedure Act 51 of 1977 (Department of Justice): https://www.justice.gov.za/legislation/acts/1977-051.pdf • Trespass Act 6 of 1959 (Department of Justice): https://www.justice.gov.za/legislation/acts/1959-006.pdf • Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 (gov.za): https://www.gov.za/documents/firearms-control-act • SAQA - unit standards 117705, 119649 and 119652: https://allqs.saqa.org.za/ • Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 (gov.za): https://www.gov.za/sites/default/files/gcis_document/201409/act85of1993.pdf The law is explained in original words, not reproduced.
