Full description
Drivernator identifies which driver used which shared vehicle or machine, and for how long. No tapping, no forms, no start and stop buttons. The car's own Bluetooth or a Bluetooth beacon on the machine, the app on the driver's phone, and the journal writes itself. HOW IT WORKS 1. Choose how each machine is recognised. 2. Invite the drivers. They install the app, sign in with Google and enter your invite code. That is the whole onboarding. 3. Drive. When a phone stays near a tagged machine, a visit begins. It ends when the phone stops hearing the tag, or when the driver taps Leave. Screen off, phone in the pocket: it still works. 4. Read the journal. Every visit, per machine and per driver, with start and end times. FIVE WAYS TO RECOGNISE A MACHINE The admin picks which of them each machine offers, and they combine: a beacon in the cab and a code on the door of the same truck is fine. • Pair with the car's Bluetooth. Most vehicles have an infotainment, navigation or hands-free unit the phone already pairs with. The moment it connects the visit begins; the moment it disconnects it ends. • A beacon the vehicle already has. Some newer vehicles advertise a Bluetooth Low Energy signal of their own. Where they do, that signal is the tag. • A beacon in the telemetry unit. Some fleet telemetry equipment has a BLE beacon built in. If yours does, the machine is already tagged. • A standalone beacon. A coin-cell Bluetooth beacon costs a few euros, sticks to anything, runs for a year or more, and does not care how old or rough the machine is. • A code label, or a pick from the list. For a machine with no radio at all, the driver scans a label on it — QR, or a plain barcode. A label the machine already carries will do. Or the driver simply picks the machine from a list. BUILT FOR REAL YARDS Shared vans, forklifts, tractors, trailers, loaners. Anything with a driver and a Bluetooth tag. • One driver at a time. When two phones claim the same machine, Drivernator asks the one that holds it whether the driver is still there, and settles it in seconds. • Any beacon, any brand. iBeacon, Eddystone, or a maker's own format. The phone that registers a tag writes down what its signal looks like, and every phone in the group listens for exactly that. • Beacon battery watch. Tags report their battery to whichever phone walks past, so the machine list shows which tag needs a new cell before it goes quiet. • Works offline. No coverage in the gravel pit? Visits are kept on the phone and sent when the network is back. • Fleet telemetry write-back. Connect Wialon, Navirec, FleetComplete or Mapon. Vehicles and drivers import from there, and confirmed visits are reported back, so your telemetry reports can name a person. FOR THE FLEET MANAGER Open the app and see the yard at a glance: which machines are in use and by whom, which are free and who had them last, which tags need a battery. Over time, the journal per machine and per driver, and one tap to a spreadsheet with driver, machine, start, end and duration. FOR THE DRIVER Install it once and forget it. The notification shows what the app is doing: listening, waiting for confirmation, or at a machine. Walk away and the visit ends by itself; in a hurry, tap Leave. Your own history is always in the Journal tab, and you can delete your account from the app whenever you like. NO GPS, NO TRACKING The app never reads the phone's position. It only recognises tags your company registered — every other Bluetooth device around is ignored. A scanned label is read by the phone's own scanner: the picture never reaches the app. Android needs the location permission before any app may scan for Bluetooth devices nearby. Drivernator asks for it for that reason alone, and uses it for nothing else.
