Full description
Android already counts your minutes. Sthir tells you what they mean. "Half your Instagram time happened after 11pm." "Thursday ran two hours longer than your other weekdays." "You first reached for your phone at 6:04 AM." That is the whole idea. Sthir reads the screen-time figures your phone already records and turns them into plain sentences you can act on — or ignore. It never scores you, never congratulates you, and never tells you that your usage is bad. ★ WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN Around fifteen rules look at your daily totals and surface what actually changed: which app moved, which evening ran long, when your first pickup drifted earlier. Charts are there for context. The sentences are the point. ★ TODAY AT A GLANCE One number for today, how it compares with your own usual day, how many times you picked the phone up, and where the time went app by app. Open it, read it, put the phone down. Most days that takes ten seconds. ★ FOCUS SESSIONS Pick the apps that pull at you, pick 25, 50 or 90 minutes, and start. Open a paused app and you get a quiet screen instead. "Continue anyway" is always on it. You can end a session early at any time and nothing is lost, because nothing was being counted. ★ WIND-DOWN WINDOW Set an evening hour and the same gentle pause applies until morning. Useful if your own data tells you the late-night hours are the ones you would rather have back. ★ THIRTY DAYS OF HISTORY Android keeps only a short window of usage history. Sthir stores daily totals on your phone so you can see a real month for any single app, not just the last few days. ★ A WEEKLY PAGE WORTH READING Once a week, a short readable summary of how the week actually went, and the one thing worth noticing. No grade, no percentage, no trophy. Share it if you want to. ★ HOME SCREEN WIDGET Today's total on your home screen, so awareness costs you nothing. No badge, no notification, no reason to open the app. ★ A GENTLE NUDGE, IF YOU WANT ONE Off by default. Turn it on and you get one line at a time you choose, summarising yesterday. It never interrupts you while you are using your phone. ★ WHAT STHIR WILL NEVER DO No streaks. No badges. No confetti. No red warnings. No guilt copy when you unpause something. An app about spending less time on your phone should not compete for your attention, so this one is deliberately boring to open. ★ EXPORT YOUR OWN DATA Save a CSV wherever you like. It is your data. ★ PRIVACY Your screen-time figures stay on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. Sthir uses no accessibility service and no VPN — it reads the standard Android usage-access permission you grant once in settings, and nothing else. The app is free and shows a small banner on three secondary screens: Settings, a single app's history, and the focus log. There are no full-screen ads and no ads at all on the main screens, during a focus session, or on the pause screen. Your usage figures are never sent to an advertiser. Sthir is for adults who want to understand their own phone use. It is not a parental-control app and cannot monitor anyone else's device. "Sthir" means steady.
