Full description
Logbook is an expense tracker for people whose money involves someone else. Most spending apps assume you are on your own. Logbook keeps your own daily record of money in and money out, by category, and adds a second thing on top: a shared account with one other person, where both of you work from the same running balance. MONEY IN, MONEY OUT Add an entry in a few taps, give it a category, and see the day, the week or the month add up. Income on one side, outgoings on the other, so your cash flow — and the question of where your money went — has a plain answer. You decide what goes in, which means cash counts here as much as anything else. AN ACCOUNT FOR A PERSON This is the part that is hard to find elsewhere. Open an account for someone and let the balance run: - a shop tab, and what a customer still owes on it - money you lent a friend, and how much has come back so far - rent, bills and the weekly shop split with a flatmate - household costs shared with a partner - the float in a small business, cash in and cash out each day One running balance, one version of events. Settling up becomes arithmetic instead of memory, and there is no argument about who paid last time. NOTES THAT STAY WITH THE MONEY Written notes live beside the entries they relate to: the terms you agreed, a meter reading, the detail you will have forgotten by Friday. Any note can be locked behind your fingerprint or face unlock. SET UP THE WAY YOU WORK - 136 currencies, chosen by you and never guessed from the language you read in - Ten languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Bengali, Nepali, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic - Categories you can rename - Day, week and month views - CSV import to bring your history in, CSV export to take it out again PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your entries are stored on your device, and the app works fully offline. Cloud sync is optional: switch it on when you want a shared account to reach the other person, leave it off and nothing leaves the phone. Fingerprint or face unlock, or a passcode, can lock the whole app. WHAT LOGBOOK DOES NOT DO Better to say this up front than to disappoint you later: - It does not connect to your bank, and it never asks for banking credentials. - It does not move, hold, send or receive money. It is a record book, not a wallet. - There is no lending, no credit, no investing and no financial advice here. - It does not scan receipts, and it does not predict your future spending. You type your own numbers. That is what keeps it fast, and what keeps it yours. WHO IT IS FOR The shop owner who still keeps a book behind the counter. Two flatmates who gave up on keeping score in their heads. A small trader watching the float. Anyone who wants a calm daily spending log, a simple budget, and, when it matters, a ledger that two people can agree on.

What's new

Ten languages, and the numbers to match. - Home screen widgets: add an expense in one tap, or keep a note in view. - Logbook now reads in English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Bengali, Nepali, Hindi, Urdu and Arabic. Urdu and Arabic lay out right to left. - Amounts are written in the numerals of the language you read in. - 136 currencies, each with the right number of decimal places: three for the dinar, none for the yen. - A language picker on the first walkthrough screen.
