Pick a date and a place, and the app draws the sun's path across a top-down compass dial. SKY DIAL A compass dial shows the sun's path for the chosen date and place, with hour marks and the bearings of sunrise and sunset. Drag the colour-coded 24-hour strip and the sun marker moves along its arc, while live elevation and azimuth update as you scrub. The direction and length of the shadow cast by a 1 m pole change with it, so you can picture shade on a patio, a garden bed or a campsite. YOUR DAY PLAN The day plan lists sunrise, solar noon and sunset, together with civil, nautical and astronomical twilight, golden hour and blue hour. Every band of light sits on one strip, so planning a shoot or an evening walk takes a glance. THE WHOLE YEAR Year charts show sunrise, sunset and day length for all 12 months with today marked.
