Full description
See the loop OCD keeps you in, and practice leaving the thought unanswered. Conicia is a self-help program for adults who live with OCD, written by a psychiatrist who treats it, with someone who has it. Lessons that show you how OCD works, in-the-moment tools for urges and intrusive thoughts, guided exercises, an OCD journal, and a weekly check-in. Rooted in exposure and response prevention (ERP), inference-based CBT, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), not just one. Many people arrive here because a therapist recommended structured work between sessions. If that is you, this is the app they meant. Others arrive on their own, on a waiting list or without a therapist, and start with the free tools and the first lesson. Open the app and it asks one question: what do you need right now? - OCD is loud. Practices for not acting on it, right now. - I have time to work on it. Your next lesson, read or listened to. - OCD got me earlier. Log it in the journal, and the pattern shows. Tools for hard moments: - Urge surfing: stay with an urge without acting on it. You set the length. - Unhook from a thought: write it down and watch the stream carry it away. Nothing is saved. - Caught in a loop: when you cannot stop going over it, set the question down unsolved. Not an answer, a way to stop circling. The lessons: - Short lessons, a few minutes each, in Dr. Weston Fisher's own words: how OCD works, what it has you doing, what sets it off, facing what it has you avoiding, where the doubt starts, living alongside OCD, staying well - Listen instead of read: every lesson plays aloud, like an audiobook, even with your screen locked - Keep a chapter's audio on your phone and listen offline The exercises: - Guided writing exercises from the lessons: map your triggers, take stock of your safety behaviors, build your exposure ladder, write the alternative story, plan your response to a slip The OCD journal: - Catch OCD in the act: log what set it off, what it pushed you to do, and what you did instead - A minute per moment, in three short steps - Each week, the urges you did not feed and the time compulsions took. Week by week, the pattern shows The weekly check-in: - Five questions, about a minute. How OCD has been this week, in one chart over time. For tracking, not diagnosis. If you work with a therapist or clinician: - Connecting is free and your choice - They can follow your progress, assign readings and exercises, leave you voice notes for hard moments, and open the parts meant to be done together - Work through the program with them in session, on one screen Who made it: - Dr. Weston Fisher, a psychiatrist who has specialized in OCD for more than a decade, and a product manager who has OCD - No AI chatbot. No reassurance on tap. No streaks, no badges, no feed, no ads - What you write is encrypted, and you can delete your account and its data at any time Sign in to use the app: A Conicia account is required. The full program is part of a Conicia subscription. Reading, exercises and tools work offline. What Conicia is not: Conicia is educational and self-management only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, and it is not for the diagnosis or treatment of any condition, including OCD. Talk to your clinician before making decisions about your care.
