EkiWalk maps your walking onto real train routes across Japan — every step moves you forward along the line, station by station, until you reach the end of the journey. NINE ROUTES TO WALK Choose from routes ranging from short city lines to legendary long-distance journeys, including the Chuo Line through Tokyo, the loop of the Yamanote Line, and the Tohoku, Hokkaido, Hokuriku, and Tokaido Shinkansen. Switch routes anytime and start a new journey. COLLECT STATION POSTCARDS Unlock a custom train station postcard at every station you reach, each one designed around the real place. DISCOVER LANDMARKS ALONG THE WAY Pass tunnels, mountains, prefecture borders, and other waypoints as you travel, each with a bit of context about the location. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS - Automatic step tracking (Health Connect) - Visual map of your position on the route - Daily progress at a glance - Distance in kilometers or miles - Estimated arrival date based on your walking pace DISCOVER JAPAN Learn about the attractions, transfer lines, and points of interest at each station along the way — a virtual tour of Japan's rail network that keeps you moving. New route: the San'yō Shinkansen, Shin-Ōsaka to Hakata, 19 stations. Also new: skip a route's opening stretch if you've already walked it; Tōhoku and Yamanote distances corrected (you keep your progress); footprints while steps load; turn your phone to enlarge a postcard.
