Full description
You did not decide to open that app. Your thumb did. Breather is a gentle app blocker that puts one slow breath between the reflex and the feed. Open an app you asked it to watch, and a pause screen appears first — a breathing circle, how many times you have already opened that app today, and a way through if you still want it. It never locks you out. You can always continue. That is the point: the opening stops happening by accident. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick the apps that pull you in — the ones you reach for without deciding to. 2. Open one. Breather steps in with a short breathing pause. 3. Continue mindfully, or put the phone down. Either way, you chose it. Continue through a pause and you get a pass — a few quiet minutes in that app before the next pause. You set how long. WHY A PAUSE BEATS A BLOCK Hard app blockers get uninstalled by Thursday. Willpower is not the problem; speed is. The gap between picking up the phone and being three minutes into a feed is under a second, and nothing in that second asks whether you meant to. Breather widens that second. That is all it does, and it is enough. No streak you can fail, no lockout to resent, no screen time report that only tells you the damage after it is done. WHO IT IS FOR - Screen time that keeps climbing no matter what the weekly report says - Doomscrolling you notice only after it has eaten an hour - ADHD brains that need an external speed bump for focus, not another rule to remember - A dopamine detox you want to actually finish - Anyone tired of being their own app blocker WHAT IS INSIDE - A breathing circle that sets the pace of the pause - A counter showing how many times you have opened that app today - Pause backdrops — nature, sea, or your own photos, which stay on your phone - Small suggestions for what to do with the moment instead - A pass length you control, from one minute to fifteen FREE AND PRO Breather pauses one app free, forever. Pro unlocks every app you want to slow down — monthly, yearly, or one payment that never renews. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY Usage access tells Breather which app just opened. Display over other apps lets the pause screen appear. Ignoring battery optimization keeps it from being put to sleep. Nothing about your usage leaves your phone, and your photos stay where they are.

What's new

Version 0.4.4 crashed on startup and never opened. This fixes it. Sorry to anyone who installed it and found nothing there. Breather also waits a week before asking you to rate it, instead of asking during setup. Hard to have an opinion about a pause you haven't seen yet.
