Full description
Pay once. Works offline. Your data never leaves your device. No subscription, no account, no ads, no tracking. Aspect is a study aid for the Rules of the Road — the COLREGS module of the USCG deck licence exams, and the rules themselves for anyone who stands a watch. This app is not affiliated with, associated with, or endorsed or sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard or any other government entity — it reproduces public-domain government text as a study aid, nothing more. FREE, FOREVER • The complete text of both the International and Inland Navigation Rules, as published by the U.S. Coast Guard, including the annexes. • Full-text search across every rule, with the International and Inland text side by side where they differ. • Every question from the USCG published sample examinations, with the rule each one turns on. These are public domain, and it would be wrong to charge for them. ONE-TIME UNLOCK • Every light and shape, drillable. The full configuration catalogue, drawn as original artwork you can rotate to any aspect. Recognition is most of the exam. • Sound signals you can hear. Every pattern synthesised with the real one-second and four-to-six-second timing, with the International and Inland meanings side by side. • Full exam simulation. 50 questions weighted to the real distribution, 90% to pass, closed book and timed — the way the Rules of the Road module is actually sat. Wrong answers link straight to the rule. • Progress and weak-area tracking. Per-rule mastery, spaced repetition, and a straight answer to "what should I study next?". • Printable practice tests. Build a test from the rules or endorsements you choose and print it, for people who study on paper. One purchase, $6.99, on this Google account. Not a subscription. There is nothing else to buy. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • English only. There are no translations in this version. • It is a study aid, not a carriage-compliant copy. It does not satisfy the requirement in 33 CFR 83.01(g) to carry a copy of the Inland Navigation Rules on board; see NVIC 01-16 and carry an approved copy. • No sync between devices. Your progress lives on the device it was made on, because there is no account and no server to sync it through. • Nothing is uploaded. The app makes no network calls of its own; the only thing that ever goes over the wire is Google Play's own purchase check. SOURCES The Rules are a work of the United States Government and are not subject to copyright protection (17 U.S.C. §105), as are the sample examinations published by the National Maritime Center. The text is taken directly from these official sources: • Navigation Rules and Regulations Handbook, U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center: https://www.navcen.uscg.gov/navigation-rules-amalgamated • 33 CFR Part 83 (Inland Navigation Rules), U.S. Government Publishing Office: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CFR-2025-title33-vol1/xml/CFR-2025-title33-vol1-part83.xml Questions marked as coming from a USCG sample examination are reproduced from those published exams. Every illustration, drill, explanation and mnemonic is an original work created for this app. Settings → About names the exact published edition each dataset came from, its retrieval date, and its SHA-256, so the claim is checkable rather than asserted. This app is not associated with or endorsed by the U.S. Coast Guard or any government entity. Always verify against the current published edition. Nothing here is a substitute for the judgement required by Rule 2. Support: [email protected]
