Use the 6 Jars method, the 50/30/20 rule, the envelope system, or create your own allocation system. Instead of seeing one overall balance, you see separate amounts for everyday expenses, entertainment, major purchases, savings, and other categories. This makes it easier to understand how much you can actually spend right now without using money set aside for other goals. HOW IT WORKS When you first start using the app, you can choose a budgeting approach: the 6 Jars method, the 50/30/20 rule, or the envelope system. 6 Jars Finance will create the appropriate categories and allocation percentages. You can change them at any time: adjust percentages and names, add your own categories, or fully adapt the system to your needs. When adding a salary or other income, you can divide the money manually or allocate it automatically based on the percentages you’ve set. For example, part of your income can stay available for everyday expenses, part can go toward entertainment, and part can be set aside for a vacation, a major purchase, or an emergency fund.
