HIT Mission (Human Interaction Time) is a digital wellness app designed to help individuals and families reduce screen time and increase meaningful real-world interaction. Users start a “Mission” to voluntarily disconnect from distracting apps and stay focused on offline activities such as family time, reading, or personal productivity. During a Mission, the app creates a temporary distraction-free environment and tracks progress through a gamified system. Users earn TIME points, complete Missions, maintain streaks, and progress through ranks based on consistency. The app also allows families and groups to participate together through shared leaderboards and accountability. All activity tracking and scoring are validated securely on the server to ensure fairness and accuracy. HIT Mission is built to promote healthier digital habits through structured, voluntary, and time-bound engagement. ⸻ 2. The app temporarily restricts access to selected distracting apps only during an active Mission session initiated by the user. No restrictions are applied outside of active sessions. ⸻ Use of Parental Controls / Screen Time APIs This app uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs strictly for user-initiated, time-bound digital wellness sessions. During an active Mission: * Selected apps are temporarily restricted * Restrictions are automatically lifted when the Mission ends * The user retains access to essential system functions (e.g., phone, emergency services) The app does not: * Permanently block apps * Modify system settings outside user consent * Monitor user activity outside Mission sessions ⸻ Why This Access Is Required The core functionality of HIT Mission depends on maintaining a distraction-free environment during an active Mission. Without temporary app restriction: * Users could switch apps during a Mission * Mission integrity would be compromised * The scoring and behavioral model would become invalid The restriction ensures: * Accurate tracking of intentional screen-free time * Fairness across users * Consistency in the gamified system ⸻ User Control and Consent * All Missions are explicitly started by the user * Restrictions are temporary and session-based * Users can end a Mission at any time * No background or hidden restrictions are applied ⸻ Edge Case Handling The app safely handles: * App crashes * Device shutdown * App backgrounding In such cases: * The Mission automatically ends * Data is reconciled securely on next launch * No restrictions persist beyond the session ⸻ Accessibility Service Disclosure HIT Mission uses the Android AccessibilityService API to support its core feature: helping users voluntarily reduce distractions during active Missions. When a user starts a Mission, the app may temporarily detect and block access to selected distracting apps in order to maintain a focused, screen-free environment. The AccessibilityService is used only for: * detecting when restricted apps are opened during an active Mission * enforcing voluntary focus sessions initiated by the user * supporting digital wellbeing and screen-time reduction features HIT Mission does NOT use AccessibilityService to: * collect personal or sensitive data * read text entered by users * monitor passwords or payment information * track user activity outside active Missions * perform hidden surveillance Accessibility access is: * fully user-controlled * optional * used only during active user-initiated sessions * disabled when Missions end The app’s purpose is digital wellbeing, productivity, and healthier screen habits.
