Het project "Het Strand Veilig" heeft tot het doel de veiligheid aan de Nederlandse stranden te vergroten. Toezicht en hulpverlening, afstemming met lagere overheden en publiekscommunicatie vormen de drie hoofdlijnen om dat te bereiken. De Strand App geeft informatie over de stranden van Nederland, het toeristisch verblijf aldaar, de veiligheid, bereikbaarheid, bijzonderheden en technische werkzaamheden.
