Full description
Listen Step is an innovative ELN notebook that aims to quickly capture all necessary details as experiments are completed and The voice assistant aims to help experimenters complete experiments with greater focus. On the Protocol page in the middle of the navigation bar, tap the plus button to create a protocol, then tap the black Start button to begin. You will first confirm a checklist. After confirming consumables and instruments, tap Confirm Start to launch the voice-guided steps. The app is recommended for use with Bluetooth earphones. Turn on Hands-free mode to operate your phone via voice commands. Voice commands can be found in the sidebar after entering the app, and can be used for Next, Previous, Repeat, real-time voice note recording, etc. If any step contains a time description, a timer starts automatically when the step begins. You can take or upload photos at any step; after uploading, the photo must be renamed and confirmed. After completing the experiment, rate your execution of the protocol steps during the experiment. For steps with lower ratings, the voice assistant will remind you during the next experiment, helping you recall past execution issues and improve performance. This reminder feature can be turned on or off in the sidebar. In addition, when you tap the card edit button to edit steps, the ratings will also provide reminders for low-rated steps. Tap the edit button on a protocol card to easily edit experiment steps. The plus sign on the left adds a row below the current row; the minus sign on the right deletes the current row. Long-press the bottom edge of a step and drag upward to merge it with the previous step, or drag downward to split the current step into two steps based on the verb. Long-press the top border of a step and drag up or down to swap its position with another step. Tap the Calendar page on the right side of the bottom navigation bar to see completed experiments and the time spans they cover. In the upper right corner, you can switch between month, week, and day views. Select a future calendar time, tap the plus button, choose an existing protocol, and schedule the experiment. The appointment will sync with your phone calendar and provide calendar reminders. When the scheduled time arrives and you enter the app, the corresponding scheduled protocol will be pinned to the top. Tap the History notebook on the left side of the bottom navigation bar to see completed experiments. Tap the Report button to view the execution date, experiment ID, protocol name, experiment steps, execution rating, and the voice recordings, photos, and images recorded during the experiment. In the report, tap the Export button to share all recorded content to email. All images and voice recordings will be uploaded as email attachments by default, and the email will be saved as a draft. You can search for experiment records by date or keyword, or tap the graphical preview mode to find records by previewing photos taken during the experiment. Tapping the Delete Record button deletes the corresponding experiment record. Deleted experiment records will be kept in the deleted area for 7 days and then permanently deleted.
