Speak: Private Voice Typing

Typing on a phone is slow. Tiny keys, typos, autocorrect that fights you, and a message that should take seconds takes minutes. Speak fixes that. A small microphone appears next to the text field you're in, in any app. Tap it, say what you want to write, tap again, and your words are typed right where your cursor is. STOP THUMB-TYPING • Long replies, emails and notes: say them instead of pecking them out. • Speaking is much faster than typing on a small keyboard. • Punctuation and capital letters are added for you. • Hands full, walking the dog, cooking? One tap, then talk. WORKS WHERE YOU ALREADY TYPE Messages, email, notes, search boxes, forms: if you can type in it, you can talk into it. No switching apps, no copy and paste. Speak sits next to your keyboard (Gboard, Samsung Keyboard, SwiftKey and others) and doesn't replace it. YOUR VOICE STAYS ON YOUR PHONE • Your voice is turned into text on your device. Audio never leaves it. • No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. • Dictation works offline once set up. • The only thing Speak can ever send is the text you just dictated, and only when you tap Polish (Speak Pro, off until you agree). YOU'RE ALWAYS IN CONTROL • Speak only listens after you tap its microphone, and a notification with a Stop button shows while it listens. • Changed your mind? Tap the ring while your words are being written and nothing is typed. • Hide the microphone in specific apps, or pause it everywhere with one switch. ABOUT 100 LANGUAGES Choose the language you speak for the fastest results, pick several and let Speak work out which one you're using, or let it detect automatically. Spelling is tuned for Portuguese (Portugal). Speak's screens are in English and Portuguese. POLISH (SPEAK PRO) Right after you dictate, a ✨ button appears next to the microphone for a few seconds. Tap it to fix spelling, punctuation and grammar in the language you spoke, keeping your words, tone and length. Tap ↶ to go back. Polish uses the internet: only the text you just dictated is sent, over an encrypted connection, to be corrected, and it isn't stored. FREE, WITH OPTIONAL SPEAK PRO Speak is free to use with the Mini, Lite and Standard voice models. Speak Pro, an optional subscription with a free trial for new subscribers, adds the Plus and Max models (our most accurate), Polish, dictation of up to 10 minutes at a time, and your own list of names and terms, spelled your way. Cancel anytime in Google Play. HOW SPEAK USES ACCESSIBILITY Speak uses Android's Accessibility service to show its microphone next to the field you are typing in and to type your words at the cursor. It reads only the text field that has focus (its text and cursor position) and where that field and your keyboard are on screen. It never reads password fields or anything else on your screen, never stores or shares anything, and sends nothing unless you use Polish (see above). You choose whether to turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. YOUR VOICE MODEL On first use Speak downloads a voice model through Google Play, from 32 MB to 574 MB depending on the quality you choose. A built-in test can try every model on your phone and show you speed and accuracy side by side. Speak uses open-source speech recognition models.
