Full description
Life Fasting is a fasting timer that shows you what's actually happening in your body while you wait. Start a fast, set a goal, and watch a progress ring fill. As you pass each physiological milestone it appears on the ring — tap one to read what changes at that point, and what the evidence for it actually says. WHAT'S IN IT • A progress ring that keeps counting past your goal, so overtime is a normal state rather than an error • Milestones from the first hours through to three weeks, each anchored to real elapsed time • Three phases: glucose burning, the metabolic switch into ketosis, and deep adaptation • Notes on risk that appear when they become relevant — including the hazards of breaking a long fast, shown at the moment you go to break it • History of every fast you finish, with the option to log ones you forgot • Edit a running fast if you started the timer late HONEST ABOUT THE EVIDENCE Every claim in the timeline carries its evidence level, from randomised trials down to findings shown only in animals. Where something is popularly overstated, it says so. Claims are backed by published sources, and you can open and read them yourself. Fasting times are medians, not thresholds — your body doesn't check a clock. The app says that too. NO ADS, NO ACCOUNTS The benefits of fasting are free, so counting one should be too. There's no advertising and no sign-up. Every fast you record — start time, end time, goal — is stored on your device and never leaves it. The app does send anonymous usage analytics (which screens you open, and actions like starting or finishing a fast) to help me understand how it's used; see the privacy policy for exactly what that includes. I'm a solo developer. I built this for myself and thought someone else might find it useful. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE This app is informational and based on published literature. It is not medical advice. Fasting beyond 24–48 hours carries real risks, particularly for anyone on medication — especially insulin or sulfonylureas — and anyone with a history of eating disorders, or who is pregnant or breastfeeding. Talk to a doctor before fasting for extended periods.
