ERA App

The Electronic Recycling Association collects computers and equipment, destroys the data on them, and refurbishes what it can. Some of it goes to charities, care facilities and schools across Canada. Some is sold, which pays for the next batch. What cannot be reused is recycled for parts and materials. This app is how you take part. DONATE Book a pickup from your home or office, arrange a large collection for a business, or use Donate Express for a single item. The forms are built into the app, so there is no website to navigate. Registered charities and non-profits can apply for a donation of refurbished equipment in the app too. HELP US FIND THESE ITEMS ERA's wanted list: hundreds of specific devices that people and organisations are waiting for, updated every day. Search it, sort it, and if you have one, book a pickup. CHARITIES IN NEED Every approved charity request, with the equipment each one is waiting for, your own region first. Pick one and book a pickup for them; ERA routes what you give to that request. DEPOTS Nine locations across Canada, sorted so the closest one to you is first, with directions and a phone number for each, and every depot on the map. REUSE Read about the charities, care facilities and schools that receive refurbished equipment, how ERA works and how it destroys data, and see what is on the refurbished shelf right now. BLOG ERA's news: events, donations, and the people they reach, readable in the app. ECN ERA's credit system, if you have an account. Check your balance, see your full history, and send, request or receive credits by scanning a code. Sign in with the same account you use on app.era.ca. Your balance is protected by your fingerprint or screen lock, and stays readable when you are offline. WHAT HAPPENS TO WHAT YOU GIVE Equipment is collected and the data on it is destroyed by software wiping or physical shredding. Technicians and volunteers then decide what can be reused. Working machines are refurbished: some are given to charities, and some are sold, which pays for the next batch. Whatever cannot be reused is stripped for parts and recycled. ERA is a registered Canadian charity.
