Bindette: Audiobook Maker

Turn a folder of MP3s, M4As or FLAC files into one proper audiobook: a single M4B file with chapters, a cover, the author and the narrator, ready for every audiobook player. ADD, AND IT'S DONE • Add files or a whole folder from your phone, an SD card or any storage the system file picker shows. Bindette puts them in natural order (Chapter 2 before Chapter 10), or by their disc and track numbers. • Every file becomes a chapter, named from its tags or its cleaned-up file name. M4B and M4A files keep the chapters they already have. • The title, author, narrator and cover are found in the files' tags. FAST, AND WITHOUT LOSS When every file is AAC of one kind, Bindette copies the audio into the book as it is: no re-encoding, no loss, a 20-hour book in seconds. Anything else is encoded as AAC at the bitrate, channels and sample rate you choose, with a size estimate before you start. CHAPTERS YOUR WAY • Rename chapters in place, merge them or split them at a time. • Split by silence: see the waveform with its pauses, set the threshold and the lengths, and watch the cuts appear before you add them. • Import and export chapter lists as plain text or CUE sheets. EVERY DETAIL OF THE BOOK Title, author, narrator, series and number, year, genre, description, publisher and copyright. Choose or paste a cover, pick one from any file, and crop it to a square. MADE TO PLAY EVERYWHERE Each book gets both a QuickTime chapter track and a Nero chapter list, so players old and new show its chapters, plus the audiobook tags. After writing, Bindette opens the book again to check its chapters, length and audio. KEEPS GOING IN THE BACKGROUND A long book keeps being made when you switch apps, with its progress in a notification and a Cancel button. Queue several books; each is saved where you choose.
